Alternative reality in the context of modern social and cultural development

Examined is such phenomenon as alternative reality in the context of contemporary socio-cultural development. An attempt is made to define this phenomenon, and to reveal it’s characteristics and classification. Researched is influence of digital technologies on complication of the structure of society as aggregation of functionally interconnected social statutes and roles. Also presented is the analyses of sucg phenomena of modernity, as produced by Internet social media, screen culture, technological opportunities of mobile digital installations. Shown are three principal types of alternative reality, dominating in contemporary socio-cultural development of society.
