Emotional intelligence as professionally significant quality in personality of future psychologists

Elaborated is the problem of emotional intelligence as professionally significant quality of future psychologists. On the basis of analysis of scientific publications on the named problem, presented is description of different approaches to definition of professionally significant qualities in personality of psychologists. Explained are basic components of emotional intelligence, as well as characterized are both methods and techniques for their development. Also presented are results of concrete experimental study of emotional intelligence of future psychologists. Based on empirical results of the study, elaborated are components of emotional intelligence and basic levels of such. Also given is substantiation of the need to include into the program of education at high school the subject of “emotional intelligence” as professionally significant quality of psychologist.
