The importance of tolerance as an integral characteristic of a modern and civilized society is emphasized. The article is written on the basis of data from a sociological study conducted in 2019–2020. The analyzed materials showed that over the years of independence, not all citizens of the country of different ethnic communities have realized that they are part of the single people of the Kyrgyz Republic.
