Analyzed are theoretical and practical aspects of professional orientation of young people. Based on sociological monitoring, comparative analysis of functioning of educational institutions at both federal and regional levels was carried out. The aim of the analysis is to identify priorities and problems in researched system of education. As result of sociological research with basing on concrete example of the Republic of Mari El, presented are measures for bettering professional orientation on regional labor market.
